FOODS AND TREATMENTS FOR STRONG, HEALTHY HAIR EVEN IN WINTER.
We have said time and time again that healthy skin and hair depends on what we eat. A healthy, balanced diet helps provide the necessary nutrients to strengthen hair, oxygenate the scalp and keep skin radiant and healthy. Winter is a bad time for our hair. Smog, humidity and sudden temperature changes are stress factors that leave hair dull and lacklustre. This can be remedied with excellent cosmetic treatments and through our diet. The external action of treatments and internal action of diet combined is a true panacea.
GOOD FATS.
Omega-3s are "good" essential fatty acids that prevent cardiovascular disease, help maintain healthy weight, reduce triglycerides and combat and prevent diabetes. Together with Omega-9 fatty acids, they nourish our hair from within. They are lipids similar to the lipids found in hair. Fish, such as blue fish (mackerel, European anchovy and herring), tuna and anchovies, as well as salmon and shrimp, dried fruit and nuts such as walnuts and oilseeds, chia seeds, hemp oil and linseed oil are rich sources of Omega-3. Extra virgin olive oil, on the other hand, is a rich source of Omega-9. All foods that are easy to obtain and include in our diet. Make sure you eat plenty of good fats!

VITAMINS.
Vitamin H, or biotin, is essential for hair growth and healthy skin and also helps with normal central nervous system function and carbohydrate and amino acid metabolism. However, our body is unable to synthesise Vitamin H itself. This is why it must be obtained through the diet or through supplements. Eggs are the main source of vitamin H, but they must be eaten cooked. This is because vitamin H binds to avidin, a protein found in egg white, which prevents biotin absorption if eggs are consumed raw. Cooking denatures avidin and consequently neutralises its negative effect. Other foods rich in vitamin H are spinach and mushrooms, cauliflower, peas, carrots, wholegrain rice, lentils and lettuce. Vitamin A has nourishing and anti-ageing properties that have beneficial effects on hair. Vitamin A deficiency causes the scalp to thicken and sweat to accumulate on the surface of the scalp, which can cause dandruff and dry hair. Vitamin C boosts circulation and iron absorption. Oranges, lemons and vegetables are rich sources of iron. Vitamin E, on the other hand, is a powerful antioxidant that increases oxygen absorption in cells throughout the body. Good scalp oxygenation is essential for nourished hair. Almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts and walnuts are rich sources of Vitamin E.
TRACE ELEMENTS.
Our tables also list foods rich in trace elements, which although only present in small quantities, play an essential role in the main vital processes. They are key to keeping our hair healthy.
IRON. Iron is found in red meat, spinach and fruit. It is essential for haemoglobin synthesis and blood oxygenation. Iron also contributes to the production of colour pigments that counteract the onset of white hair. COPPER. Found in spinach, shellfish and potatoes, copper contributes to the synthesis of melanin, which gives hair its colour, and prevents greying. MAGNESIUM. Found in vegetables and in peanuts, magnesium promotes the development of enzymes involved in both melanin production and hair regrowth; a balanced diet must include a sufficient amount of magnesium. ZINC. Zinc, found in meat and fish, promotes germ cell activity in the hair matrix and therefore  hair growth or hair loss,  in the case of deficiency. SULPHUR. Found in white meat, liver and ham, sulphur strengthens weak, damaged hair.
MEDAVITA TREATMENT
We recommend combining a balanced diet enriched with the right nutrients with specific cosmetic treatments. LotionConcentrée is an anti-fall treatment* that stimulates regrowth, strengthens the hair-scalp anchor system and extends the hair growth cycle. Developed by Medavita, this multi-functional active complex comprising a rich pool of plant-derived substances has existed for centuries. People have known about the effectiveness of medicinal plants since the dawn of time. Medicinal plants fall under the category of natural medicines and are still widely used in therapeutic homeopathy- and phytotherapy-inspired techniques. LotionConcentrée strengthens hair and prevents hair loss. The result is softer, stronger, more radiant hair that holds a style. Even in the absence of specific problems, we recommend having this treatment at least twice a year, to firm and invigorate the scalp and strengthen hair. The best time to have the treatment is spring and autumn. The Nutrisubstance treatment, on the other hand, nourishes dry, dry and sensitised hair. It eliminates signs of chemical and mechanical stress, leaving hair healthy and radiant. The use of aggressive products, very hot hair dryers, straighteners, chlorine from swimming pools, sudden changes in temperature from very hot to very cold, as happens in winter, are all stress factors that damage the hair fibre. The Nutrisubstance treatment penetrates the fibre leaving hair strong and shiny. The Nutrisubstance treatment should be repeated for 4 to 6 week cycles whenever hair demands intense hydration and nourishment. A healthy, varied diet combined with targeted cosmetic treatments helps keep hair strong and healthy.
